On April 26, 2014, staff from Comcast and NBC Universal came out to the Anchor House Shelter as part of Comcast Cares Day. During the day, the volunteers came to the Anchor House Shelter and performed multiple beautification projects to brighten up the shelter and make it a more pleasant setting for the kids. Projects that were done included landscaping and gardening, painting some rooms, cleaning, wrapping gifts for the kids, crafts, organizing and during this day staff put together 100 toiletry bags that will be given out at the Street Outreach Program. In addition to the toiletry bags, backpacks were also stuffed with supplies and enough were created to give out 50 to men and 50 to women. Anchor House is extremely appreciative of all the volunteers who came out this day, and we cannot extend our sincerest gratitude enough!
